Jennifer Long holds a J.D. from Western Michigan Cooley Law School. That legal education gives her a deep understanding of how laws are written, how they affect real lives, and exactly what needs to change in Lansing.
With a decade in pharmaceutical sales, Jennifer has worked firsthand with insurance companies, navigated FDA regulations, and dealt with the bureaucratic red tape that makes healthcare more expensive and harder to access. She knows how the system works — and she knows where it's broken.
Jennifer has also dedicated years to homeless nonprofit outreach, working directly alongside individuals and families in crisis. That experience gave her an unfiltered view of what happens when government fails people — and deepened her commitment to practical, compassionate solutions that actually work.

Lower Taxes
Keep more of what you earn — at the pump, at home, and everywhere in between.
Michigan families are taxed at every turn — at the gas pump, on their property, and even on cannabis. Jennifer believes government should stop making life more expensive. She will fight to cut gas and property taxes, end the over-taxation of cannabis, and eliminate the unnecessary fees and bureaucratic costs that drain working families and small business owners. Less money to Lansing means more money in your pocket.

The housing crisis in Michigan isn't a mystery — it's the result of decades of zoning restrictions, permitting delays, and regulatory overreach that make it too hard and too expensive to build. Jennifer will fight to remove the barriers that block new housing construction, protect the rights of renters and property owners, and give people the freedom to build tiny homes and pole barns on their own land without jumping through endless government hoops. Less red tape means more housing, lower rents, and real affordability for District 77.

When government overreaches — regulating personal choices, picking economic winners and losers, or expanding bureaucracy for its own sake — it undermines the freedom and self-determination that make communities thrive. A law degree and a decade in healthcare have given Jennifer a deep appreciation for constitutional rights and the dignity of every individual. She believes all Michiganders deserve equal protection under the law — regardless of background, belief, or circumstance. Government should be a neutral referee, not a player with its thumb on the scale.

We are living in an era of unprecedented surveillance. Flock cameras track your vehicle across cities. Data centers harvest and store your personal information. AI systems monitor, profile, and predict your behavior — often without your knowledge or consent. Jennifer believes that every Michigan resident has a fundamental right to privacy, and that government has no business building a surveillance infrastructure over the people it is supposed to serve. She will fight to restrict government use of mass surveillance technology, hold data collectors accountable, and ensure that no Michigander is treated as a suspect simply for going about their daily life.

She will vote based on principle and the needs of District 77 — not on what leadership tells her to do. She will hold herself to the same standard of transparency she demands from others: publishing her votes, explaining her reasoning, and holding regular town halls so residents can hold her accountable.
